Lamp Makeover

Ready for the Round Up?

When I saw Sarah’s tutorial on covering a lampshade I just had to try this for my lamps in my living room. I had to get another lamp for the living room then get some fabric and get started! I had some leftover fabric and got to cutting. Well…I didn’t roll my lamp all the way around and cut it too short! Feeling a bit frustrated, I emailed Sarah, who by the way IS great, and she said to roll the fabric. So, I went out and got some more fabric and tried again. This time it worked! I got my glue gun and started gluing. Of course, something else had to go wrong! Well I didn’t get my material nice and smooth and it was a bit loose. I was ready to throw my material and my glue gun in the trash! Hubby suggested when taping my material to my lampshade with scotch tape and then go back and glue it. Yay, it worked! My shades looked so good! One of my lamp bases was a pretty blue, but it wouldn’t work with my color scheme in the living room. I got some gray primer, primed it, and painted it with a flat black. I really liked how it turned out! Here are my nice pretty lamps!
